Oliver is a multidisciplinary, figurative artist currently working on his master’s degree at the University of South Dakota. Born and raised in Dallas, TX, he grew up constantly witnessing the boundary shift between man-made urban spaces, and nature. From watching red-tailed hawks to catching house finches and anoles, as well being an avid rock enthusiast, he has always been enamored with the natural world.
His work focuses largely on the intricacies of queer identity; normalizing those who are othered by society by combining the figure with flora, fauna, and natural phenomena.
